Summer Flowering bulb ID

I got this giant bulb from a garden centre sale, they were thrown in a mixed basket so I've no idea what it is. I'm guessing some kind of lily or agapanthus?

The flowers are at about knee height.

(Sorry photos are the wrong way around).

    Stunning.
Only ever seen it in hot tropical countries.

Thanks!! Yes, that looks like it exactly. It seems to have done well even though I planted it late (that's why they were in the sale basket). Fingers crossed it survives the winter and comes back next year.
