I was at Holme for Gardens nursery and gardens today and spotted it growing in the borders there. One of the knowledgeable staff identified it as Bidens aurea, and described as a “thug” to get rid of unless I really, really loved it. Looking a thread from last November I can foresee problems if I keep it, so it’s going to get the heave-ho.
If anyone is in Dorset I can recommend Holme for Gardens. It’s a fabulous planted area, now has RHS partner status; great herbaceous borders, lovely arboretum with all trees labelled, wild flower meadows, woodland walks, wildlife pond. Good cafe too.
