Orchid deformity

I have a yellow phalaenopsis orchid blooming for the second time and noticed an odd shaped bud. It has opened to a flower with 8 petals/sepals and an upside down column/lip. Has anyone noticed this deformity on their plants?

Difficult one. Could the plant have been turned around during the bud growth? It is often talked about with any house plant that there are issues with under/over watering but if you have maintained a watering routine then it can't be that. It doesn't look like a virus problem. Being upside down is common for one of our Prosthechea orchids.
Maybe others will pick up and have a better idea.
    Natural variation?

Have had a look at orchid forums and the upside down is quite common. It is called resupinate when the flowers are opening as they twist 180 degrees but sometimes they over twist or don't twist at all resulting in the flower being upside down.

    Interesting.
