Advice for small shrubs for front of border
Hello! I've a border about four to five foot deep. Presently it's filled with annuals plus some dalias and a rose or two. I'm looking for some low shrubs to spread at the front of the border and to maybe billow a little over the lawn. The idea to plant my taller flowering plants behind.
Wondering if there is any good suggestions. SW facing on a well draining (sandy) soil.
Many thanks in advance to you all again. (Learning so much from here)

Other than that, I'm stuck, because your soil is very different to mine. Others will hopefully have some suggestions for you.
It isn't a huge space though, if you're wanting other planting in behind, so perhaps some evergreen ground covering plants would also suit. The perennial candytuft - Iberis would be fine, and there are lots of things like Alpine phlox, Saxifrages and Arabis etc which are good for that sort of site. Some of the smaller grasses too, if you like those
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
It will spread a lot but easy to pull out what you don't want
