some might consider it a , very pretty , invasive weed.

  • I have Lysimachia punctata 'Alexander', a variegated form, and it is not invasive in my clay soil.

Yellow loosetrife. We have had it an area in our garden for decades and it stays there.
Great yellow flowers this time of the year. To us it doesn't spread.
  • Mine started in the corner then drifted away so I gradually dug up the 'originals' so I now have a shrub in the corner and the loosestrife have colonised round a small tree where I wouldn't have tried planting them for fear of damaging the tree roots.

I think we are unlucky here in that it has spread a lot but we will keep some as it's very pretty and then keep it in check. Thanks everyone for your help.
