Red Robin - Help

This red robin is approx. 10ft tall. Its very sparce when close up to it. How far back should I cut it in order for it to come back thicker?

    You could cut it right back to around 3 or 4 feet l believe, if you're happy to take such drastic action.
    The best time to do it would be May, but you can do it now.
    (No later than August or it will be susceptible to frost damage and you may want to take that into account depending on whereabouts you are in the UK). 

    I would wait for confirmation from other forum members,  bearing in mind the time that l'm posting this 😁.
