Interesting old thread about climbers

I was wondering if it made any difference which way, I curled my thunbergia around the supports, and I came across this interesting thread. Has anyone anything to add to it.
Incidentally, thunbergia and Jasmine go anticlockwise

In London. Keen but lazy.

Thank you @B3, that explains why I've been unsuccessful trying to wind my Thunbergia the wrong way!  I'm letting it do it's own thing now towards world domination!
    Wirral. Sandy, free draining soil.
