I've been out there for an hour or so and I haven't seen any caterpillars, but plenty of moths cocooned or empty.
I'm seeing the adult moth flying about, so the cocoons will be empty. In the cobwebs will have been the caterpillars and then the cocoons/chrysalises. Choose your cure for stage of life-cycle.
Google boxtree moth RHS, they list most of the cures. But handpicking is best if the invasion is advanced.
location: Surrey Hills, England, ex-woodland acidic sand. "Have nothing in your garden that you don't know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful."
@davebettz I spotted the caterpillars back in early spring they were tiny then I checked every day for two weeks. None at the moment but perhaps they get going sooner than we think.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
