What's a sucker? Is this one?

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend so far

I'm after your expertise - is the one with an arrow a sucker? I've looked at guides but I just don't get it 😕

    I would say a sucker is a stem that sprouts out from the ground, away from the main stem.

    Suckers on roses are stems arising from the rose rootstock.  They usually have 7 leaves not 5, and are less glossy.
