Help please - what type of weed?

Hi recently we’re seeing a lot of this type of weed in our garden and sometimes near our house brickwork, I’m a little cornered, does anyone know what type of weed this is and also how to get rid of it without damaging grass?

    I think that may be bindweed, comes out in a bell-shaped white flower. I had real problems with it for years, but keep pulling it out. It strangles every plant in its path. I got rid of mine but it does pop up now and again.

    I got rid of it by putting weed killer in a sealable sandwich bag and stuffing the end of the bindweed in it and then putting the bag in a pot. 

    I did this over the course of the summer and it didn’t come back.
