Mushrooms in grass

Hi all, how do you identify a mushroom to know it safe to eat or not? These have just started sprouting up I'd imagine due to the constant rain!

You need someone with knowledge is the simple answer. Never eat any fungi when you don't know what it is.
There are lots of sites for IDing them, but @wild edges is very knowledgeable and may be able to help if he sees my tag on his name. He'll probably want a pic of the gills too  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Thank you
I'll maybe give some to my mother in law and go from there

Speaking as a very lovely mother in law … I don’t advise it … 🧙‍♀️

  • The photo is definitely not a field mushroom. We have had buckets of lovely mushrooms in our Kale

Looks like a toadstool type to me . We get loads on our lawn due to the low light levels and the rain .
