my fiancée and I have been together for 5 years and are due to be married,

my fiancees deceased father is called

derek earl bicknell

he won bronze at the Hampton court flower show in 2001 and was well known

I know it’s a long shot but it would make my fiancés world if someone has any old photos or handwriting of his or just anything!!!

I was sorry to read of his tragic end. The only reference I can find is in Surrey News.

I found a couple of photos of the Hampton Court garden, but none of him l'm afraid.

I don't know if the RHS can help, they may have more photos in their archives, perhaps including some of him, but that's a bit of a long shot.
    Good luck  :)

Have you found this in https://www.pavingexpert.com/news050 ?

One nice touch was a sort of memorial garden to Derek Earl-Bicknell, MD of Pinks Hill Landscape Supplies in Guildford, who was tragically killed in an accident last summer. Derek was a big supporter of the London Stone Show over the past couple of years, and one of the real characters in the industry. Although he was an incredibly busy man, he always tried to find time to chat and he had an undeniable enthusiasm for stone and hard-landscaping products in general. Our industry is poorer without him.

    memorial to Derek Earl-Bicknell
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

@connorj287 All of these are' long shots'

    B.A.L.I the Landscape institute.
    Shani Lawrence Garden Designs.
Sarah Eberle has won 6 golds at Hampton Court F S

@McRazz Do you have any thoughts please.

I also think that the RHS is the best chance as they will surely have an archive of all the garden plans submitted.
Good Luck and I sincerely hope you get somewhere.

If Pinks Hill/Love Stone were/are BALI affiliated then they may have something on record...especially if any awards were won. If you want to aim for the top then Wayne Grills is the guy to contact.

Another resource would be Eljays, they're probably the biggest networker in the business and know absolutely everyone - https://www.eljays44.com/

Also, horticulture week might have something on archive? - https://www.hortweek.com/

If it were me i'd put a shout out on one of the landscape networks on LinkedIn. Lots of very active people on there and its not uncommon for memorial posts to get a lot of anecdotal responses

From what i've read Derek sounded like a stand up chap so all the best, i hope you find what you want.
