Cornus kousa / flowering dogwood stress

Hello,

we have a cornus kousa in a fairly large pot that appears to be under stress with curled leaves. Can any suggest how to make it feel happier? Is it just more water, a feed or just not happy in a pot.

Thanks!

Not happy in a pot, probably needs more water. Can you get it in the soil?  Is it in a soil based compost because standard MPC is no good for large shrubs?

@Josephhumphreys ; generally (not always) what is above the ground in terms of growth is what is below the ground . @fidgetbones advice is spot-on !
  • Thank you both. It was potted in John Innes. There is a spot we can get it in the ground but it's quite close (2 or 3 feet) to a boundary (brick) 5ft wall (not near the house). Do you think the roots would damage the wall? A quick google says unlikely but appreciate any advice. Thanks!
