Is this a euphorbia?

I collected some seeds last year from what I thought was a euphorbia. But I have never been able to find anything that remotely resembles it. This picture is only a seedling, but I can say it was around 1.2m tall with a spire like habit with purple flowers along its spire length. Can anyone suggest what it is??

    I think it's Linaria purpurea. Pretty.
    Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Looks like a baby Amygdaloides Purpurea to me. 

    Did it look like this?

    I agree with @Busy-Lizzie - Linaria,  common name toadflax  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....



    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Here is another grainy photo of the mother plant (died in the winter). I does look like a Linaria. Maybe Purpurea
