    They don't touch the nasturtiums, and I often have those, and they sometimes manage to self seed too, but they're too late to be of any use anyway. Damage is already done with things like dahlias.  I don't really grow Calendulas but I've done some marigolds this year. They haven't been touched - by aphids either.  Many things don't survive by self seeding so I'd be constantly seeding new plants to try. It's just Sod's Law  :)
    I'm afraid even touching beer is out of the question for me, for reasons I won't go into. 

    We just have a lot of slugs, and because very few folk round here garden to any extent, my plot is very attractive to them. I had  a look at the dahlia a while go and it looks as if it's recovered very slightly. It's just how it is with plants eh?
    I can't get too excited about it all any more!  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
