Camelia not looking well

My camelia has gradually been dropping its leaves and branches are starting to look quite bare. The flowers were lovely last month and it has some new growth. I have fed it once  but think it is probably root bound? It's going to be difficult to get it out of this pot as it has an inner rim and I don't want to damage / lose it as my late mother grew it for me. Any guidance greatly appreciated.

  • Would help to get a better picture...but to have a totally bare camellia this time of year is worrying, they are at their most lush currently setting the blooms for next year.

You will definitely have to free it up from the pot if you want it to survive, but it may be too late. If you know the variety you can look for a replacement.
