Replanting garlic cloves

I tried growing garlic for the first time this year and had great success. Can I use the cloves from one of this years bulbs to replant in the autumn or will I have better results buying new ones from the garden centre?

    Try both to see if there is a difference. Did not notice any difference when I carried out this experiment.

    I've done it too; fine to use your own bulbs.
    Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.
