A tad OCD, or am I doing right?

Do people usually deadhead hardy Geraniums? Just realised mine is covered in spent flowerheads. Should I deadhead, or just let the first flush go over and then give it a good chop to encourage more flowers later? If I deadhead it'll be a good half-hour task.

  • No deadheading just shear over, give it a good water and wait.

I cut mine right back to the ground.
They'll soon grow plenty of new leaves and sometimes another smaller flush of flowers

@Johnjoe I like to see the Cranes Bill seed heads for a while. Then as said shear over water well until new growth appears. Two to three weeks depending on weather and water. You should get a few late flowers may depend on which ones you grow. You will get a neat plant to take you through autumn.

Thanks for advice. Will wait for it to finish flowering completely then shear it over.
  • I have a lovely tree to show you, but cannot workout how to post a photo from my i-phone to lap top. Such a shame

You can use your iPhone,  lots of people use a phone to take photos.
