thank you very much Buttercupdays. i have done that, and i'll do it again tomorrow. but now there aren't any stems/branches that don't have yellowing leaves from the soil quite a long way down, so i don't know if the plant can be saved.lately i've been using a fan heater in the room, though never pointing anywhere near the plant, and never for more than 30 mins to an hour. could it be that? i've put a big dish of water behind the pot. i'm not giving up, but also, i need to make sure i can propagate it. when i repotted it, about six weeks ago, i took some cuttings and put them in water in the window sill. i didn't think they'd taken, and one of the two jars went mouldy, but in the remaining one, two of the three cuttings have little white roots.
so what do i do now? should i wait till the roots are a decent length before potting them? they're only about 0.5cm yet. and will i need the same compost mixture as for the mother plant?
and i want to take more cuttings as well. can anyone advise me on the best way to do this? would rooting powder be a good thing?
