What is this wild flower ?

It looks like a type of scabious to me, superficially like a Devil’s Bit Scabious. But my plant book says that Devil’s Bit Scabious is found in marshes, and we found lots of this on the Pembrokeshire coast path a few weeks ago - hardly marshland! Also, close-in the petals look the wrong shape. Is it too blue for field scabious?
Carmarthenshire (mild, wet, windy). Loam over shale, very slightly sloping, so free draining. Mildly acidic or neutral.

Sheeps bit scabious is found in dry grassy areas.

I’ve just planted a couple of these this spring.

It’s just starting to flower now.

    Lovely colour.

Scabious sounds like riddled with an itchy disease. Such a pretty flower doesn't deserve such a name.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

These are lovely. I got 3 small pots for 50p each in a garden centre clearance section a few years ago and they have flowered profusely every year since. I find they spread a bit but not enough to be a problem. Beautiful colour.

Just wondering...it reminds me of Globularia vulgaris.

Wonder what the leaves look like?

The rough leaves were thought at one time to help cure 'scabies and scurf' .
