plum tree suddenly dropping leaves

small plum tree, has 3 plums on it and was looking healthy. its been unseasonally sunny and warm up here. but rained recently. We have been away and so not watered when it was scorchio in scotland. Noticed the leaves turning yellow and dropping off.
The one next to it, seems ok at the moment.
do I need to water?

    Welcome to the forum 😊

Yes it sounds as if your tree needs water and lots of it. How big is the tree and how long has it been planted?

  • we planted during the winter last year and they are small trees... probably about a1.5 meters high

Two buckets full of water each every other day for the next two weeks 🤞

Then one bucket each twice a week until mid September.

Pour it gently over the root area so that it sinks right in.
