Discolouration and limbless (possibly dieing!)

We have this house plant, Alocasia Amazonian, which has these signs of unhappiness (see photo).
Does anyone have any idea what the issue may be.  It gets watered every two weeks or so with tepid water (from the tap).

I know nothing about the plant it's self but you could try gently tipping it out is it very wet/dry/ pot bound?

    1. Is it potted in well draining soil?  They like peat based but airy and fast draining.
    2. Do you water when the plant needs it, rather than a schedule? They like to stay a bit moist, stick your finger in the soil and see if it needs water.  If a small container like that is still wet after two weeks, you need better draining soil.  Also, make sure you take it out of the decorative pot to water, so it can completely drain any excess away.  Water until it is dripping out the bottom and the pot feels heavier. Or better yet, bottom water.
    3. Do you fertilize?  They are heavy feeders in the spring and summer.
    4. Does it get bright indirect light?  It looks like it in the photo, but they prefer good lighting.
    5. Could you group it with some other plants to increase the local humidity?  Or add one of those little humidifier things near it?  I use one that is supposed to be for essential oils, but don't add any oil.  Small and decorative, and runs for hours.

My first thoughts are it's a watering issue.
