Some Advice Please

I would welcome some advice for a shrub that might meet the following criteria.
1. Be evergreen.
2. Have a flowering season.
3. Be completely hardy (I live in the north east of England).
4. Thrive in a north west facing situation.
5. Have an eventual height and spread of about 1 metre.
I know that I seem tom be being rather fussy, but if anyone has a suitable suggestion I would be really grateful.

The biggest problems with evergreens last winter, wind scorch caused by very cold wind. Other issues were prolonged rain followed by a freeze causing splittting and cracking of bark on mature evergreens.
We don't know what next winter will bring but there are risks. This doesn't answer your question but it is to be considered.

    Hi @northshields1947,

Mahonia 'Soft Caress' might fit the bill.

I'm on the lookout myself for a couple of these for 2 large pots ..... but I want to see them "in the flesh" as I'm wary of buying shrubs online.
