Nottingham University

Nottinham University is a beautiful green campus. Tended and cared for by a very inspiring innovative headgardener.  People were laying flowers today in memory of the two students who together with a very caring man tragically lost their lives.
My daughter studied French there some years ago and wanted to pay her respects today.
All the lovely flowers left had been put in buckets of water so very caring. Leaflets too for anyone who's pain may be hard to bare.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

One of the tutors at Nottingham University told me that parents really liked Nottingham because it was perceived to be safe. I wonder if that will continue. Certainly there have always been parts that if I have to drive through, I make sure all the car doors are locked. Parts of Manchester were the same .

Nottingham had a really bad reputation about 10-15 years ago with a spate of gang murders (20 a year at the worst). Rare for students to be affected. This latest event appears to be an almost random senseless attack that could almost have happened anywhere. In fact the perpetrator himself was a recent ex student.

I agree, the grounds are a nice place to walk around. I think parts were laid out by Gertrude Jekyll.

The older chap who died was a keen angler and a friend of him indoors. They regularly fished festivals together and stayed in the same cottage when he came over. It's so sad and senseless.
I'll check with Mr Google for pictures of the campus.
