Is it a climber or a shrub?

     A couple of guesses-

    Euonymus japonicus

The flowers look like those of wild Ivy (hedera Helix) but the leaves don't look quite right and in the UK ivy doesn't flower until much later in the year.

It’s the serrated edges to the leaves that are puzzling me …

Thanks I think I’ve found it at last …euonymus fortunei
it’s a large shrub alongside an east facing wall. Currently in flower and loved by bumblebees.

With those serrated leaf edges I think it's more likely to be Euonymus japonicus than fortunei as @Pete.8 suggests
