The mint moth?

I have been fascinated by watching this tiny day-flying moth today. It settled on my perennial sweet peas by my bench so I managed a photo.

I think it’s a mint moth. If so, this makes sense as I have a collection of herbs on my patio which they apparently like - spearmint, lemon balm and thyme.

My garden and I live in South Wales.

Yes, thats a mint moth. I saw one the other day at the garden centre.
  • I get them in our garden sometimes. This one from last year was on my sorbaria

I have never seen them before and with general worries on insect populations decreasing, it’s a joy to see a new one in the garden.

I get quite a few in them in my garden, I have no mint though and not much herbs!

This humid weather has seen a sudden surge in moths. I am seeing them all over the garden as I disturb vegetation during the day.
