Penstemons

I have a dozen of these. Under 'normal' circumstances,  I  would think they're  ready to plant out but I'm  sure there will be a  hosepipe  ban soon, so I'm  inclined to keep them in pots so that I  can look after them
My question  is: should  plant  them in the autumn or wait until spring?

In London. Keen but lazy.

I think the wider leaved penstemon are considered more tender than the narrower leaved varieties. I would hedge my bets and plant out 6 ASAP and pot on the rest to overwinter  :)

That's a good plan @AnniD. I'll keep the ones that look like they're going to be dark in the pots.
I really didn't need 12 but they were 12 for less than £20 including postage.🙄
