Rose transplant mistake

At the beginning of June I decided to remove lilies in the raised bed and move one of the  roses, Lady of Shalott. Some 12 days later I’m not sure if I’ve actually killed the plant.  Do I leave well alone and hope for the best. Prune heavily or move to a pot. Advice most welcome. Garden is north facing and the raised bed gets some for most of the day. Feeling quite sad as it was doing really well. Bare root from TCL this year.

@Pam285, I wouldn't worry too much at this stage. The rose probably lost quite a lot of its tiny feeding roots so it will take some time before they re-establish. Hopefully you amended/improved the soil before you planted it?

I expect you are already keeping it well watered. If you are having the same very hot weather as us, a watering can full a day wouldn't come amiss but don't feed it or prune it.  It may well drop most of its leaves but should then produce more, perhaps when it's cooler weather.

    Good luck.

@Lizzie27. Yes the raised bed has about a foot deep of 30 year old horse manure curtesy of my next door neighbour.  We’ve been having temperatures of 27 degrees so I’ve been watering daily but not feeding. I’ll continue and hopefully by August it may be looking a tad better. Thank you the advice.

No problem, hope the rose pulls through.
