Pear problem

in Fruit & veg

Hi I just saw these growing on the underside of my sister's pear tree. I noticed a few rust patches and what I suspect is vine weevil eating the leaves. Any confirmation of strange growth and advice what to do would be great please. Thanks in advance!

It's one of those things that happen frequently.
There's nothing that can be done about it and it won't harm the fruit or do any significant damage to your tree unless many leaves are affected.
The spores that cause it live on juniper in the winter, then they drift off to affect pears. Later in the year when your tree has no leaves it goes back to overwintering on a juniper somewhere withing about .5 mile of your garden.
