Oleander

I have an issue with black fungus or rot affecting my oleander as per the photos  - can anyone identify the culprit? And offer any suggestions?

  • Does it live permanently outdoors? To me it looks like a reaction to cold weather so would do a regenerative prune and cut off anything that doesn't look great. They tend to bounce quite easily from a severe prune.

I didn’t know that about pruning.  I’ve got 2 very lanky specimens which I’d love to prune but too nervous.  I’ll do some research ! Thanks 👍🏻

I prune out over-long shoots to a low point ever year. PLus anything that just looks too weak.   Otherwise it just keeps getting taller and more branches, fewer flowers.  Certainly cut out anyting you are unhappy with.  Including dead flower stalks.

    Don't be nervous.
