Ant infested cloud conifer.

Hi All,

I have a cloud conifer that I bought from a large retailer a 7 years ago. Its been looking sad for a few months now and I recently noticed it has been infested by ants. Theres a lot of die back as a result and the plant now looks rather sparse and sad.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what kind of damage the ants will have done and if the conifer will likely recover.

A lot of the 'clouds' have turned brown about 2 cm from the end but there is still some greenery.

It’s planted in the ground.

What can I do to save it.

It’s one of a set of 4 in a row.

You seem to have duplicated the thread. I replied on the other one.
Ants don't damage plants unless it's because they've made a nest in the root system.
Drought is the most common reason for browning on conifers. They need a lot of water. It's virtually impossible to over water them unless they're in the wrong sort of soil and don't have suitable drainage.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
