Tansy and Lacy phocelia

I’ve ended up with a couple of these for my wildlife garden. From what I’ve read I’m beginning to think that I may regret adding these to areas where I’m trying to cultivate meadow etc. Does anyone have experience with them, are they as invasive as some make out?

I have had Phacelia  tanacetifolia in the past. An odd one pops up now and then, but I wouldn't call it invasive.
I have a patch of tansy. It is 5 ft across after 8 years.

I love phacelia and have never found it invasive, when I grow it it’s as a meadow, in the following years the odd few pop up but nothing major. I wish it would come back more as the bees love it. I was told be a bee keeper that honey bees prefer it to lots of other flowers and will fly big distances especially when they find it, not sure how true that is but its always covered with lots of pollinators when I grow it. Also sparrows like the seeds when it’s gone over 🙂.

I have the tansy (the tall yellow buttons flower type) around my pond and it does run in our sandy soil but not to a point where it's problematic. I haven't noticed it pop up anywhere else in the garden and if it spreads to wide it's easy to pull up.

I sowed some phacelia when I first did the pond area and it never self seeded anywhere even though I wish it did. I keep meaning to get some more seed to add to the area as again it's easy to pull up if you don't want it there.
