Geranium flopping over

I have lovely geranium that unfortunately have now flopped over and looks a little unsightly in the middle. This may be natural or the work of the local cat I see in our borders occasionally. Any advice to get this back looking their best? I heard Chelsea chop might be a good option. If so, how? Thoughts?

They all do that,  you can cut it back quite a way but make sure to water it often if you have no rain.  Not sure if it’s the one that blooms again but it will make nice new bright green foliage.

It's the nature of many Geraniums, I'd do a hard hack back and water and it should kick off again

Thanks for the replies! How hard should you prune these? Gutted to lose the flowers, but is this pretty much back to ground level?
  • It might be the result of heavy rain - it happened to mine overnight following a thunderstorm.

Almost to its base, you may see some new leaves forming which you can leave.

@Neil81B Plenty of water after cutting back will speed recovery.
