Hacks.

I'm very sorry if this has been mooted before, (and I might have joined in then) - but "hacks"?. I mean, really.
Who on Earth thought that "hacks" was a good word for anything other than axe usage?
I am really tired of the drivel spouted these days - msn being particular culprits.

I hate it for reference to 'life hacks'
"Hacks" nowadays seems to be so frequently used to explain how to do things which common sense generally covers.
Personally, I find it tedious (unless having a go at the brambles and so on - I hack relentlessly then!
(I wonder if this makes sense?)
They did, in the Olden Days (I was there, so I know), Hostafan - "tips and tricks". What kind of a world are we living in now?
While I'm here, I detest almost every new word or definition; you're a 'hero' now for just about everything - breathing, etc.
nothing like what it was when I was young.
