Hacks.

I'm very sorry if this has  been mooted before, (and I might have joined in then) - but "hacks"?.  I mean, really.
Who on Earth thought that "hacks" was a good word for anything other than axe usage?
I am really tired of the drivel spouted these days - msn being particular culprits.

Hmm 🤔  … I’ve hacked back plenty of brambles and blackthorn in my time …

I like the word for what's it's for, hacking back plants as mentioned above.

I hate it for reference to 'life hacks'

Precisely!  That's what people do, isn't it?
"Hacks" nowadays seems to be so frequently used to explain how to do things which common sense generally covers.
Personally, I find it tedious (unless having a go at the brambles and so on - I hack relentlessly then!
(I wonder if this makes sense?)

    No, not cough sweets :D B3 - (thinks..................well maybe).

They did, in the Olden Days (I was there, so I know), Hostafan - "tips and tricks".  What kind of a world are we living in now?

I saw a 'life hack' the other day, it was someone explaining how a large Costa coffee is the same amount as a medium one. Amazing, thanks, my life is complete. 🤦‍♀️

While I'm here, I detest almost every new word or definition; you're a 'hero' now for just about everything - breathing, etc.

Another overused word these day Pimp! Pimp my meal,  pimp my garden.
nothing like what it was when I was young.

Not come across that one yet @Lyn 😁😲, but I imagine it’ll be swamping tv soon, just like “hack” is (what’s wrong with either “tip” or “idea”?). I suppose language evolves…(I just wonder, sometimes, though, what's wrong with the original word?)
