Too Late For Sunflowers?

I have some seeds for Pro Cut Plum and wasn't intending to use them but some of the other plants I've got going on aren't doing as well as I'd hoped. Can I still sow them now? Some places say sow until May, others say June.

I’d go ahead and sow them direct where you want them to flower.

I think you are kind of on the boundary where it's weather dependent. If they come up and we have a good summer then you will likely be ok but if it's a large variety and the weather isn't great, then you might struggle.
I'm an optimist and just planted a few a couple of days ago but they are in the greenhouse rather than the ground as it speeds things up quite a bit.

If the summer is warm and long, I think sowing them today would be fine....but of course weather dependent. I'd go for it; what do you have to loose?

  • Thanks everyone, I didn't want to waste the seeds if sowing them was a fools errand!
