  The first pic looks like Enchanter’s Nightshade

  When the toadflax finishes flowering, if you just cut off the dead flowered bit, they will branch and produce a later flush of flowers.

  Enchanters nightshade is all over our garden. Easy to pull up but what a pain.

  Agree....Circaea lutetiana...enchanters nightshade.
   Has  a mass of white roots.
  From a few plants that I weeded it spread to a ginormous patch.

  Haha, that may be my problem too, but when plants are pretty it is so tempting to leave them just to cover the ground. :-) Thanks for the tip about the roots. I wondered where all those white roots came from.
