Iris Type please

Hi All, can anyone name this Iris please. It's a self set that came up last summer and is quite a strong plant. I was going to dig it up as it's quite large but this flower came out earlier this week. Many Thanks.

Iris foetidissima?  They generally just appear in gardens, gifts from the birds.  You should see lovely orange berries on it in the autumn.
Gardening in East Suffolk on dry sandy soil.

Hi didyw. Thanks for the answer. That name would indicate some sort of 'stinking' Iris but I don't smell anything walking past. I'll have to get closer or it might be the hay fever that's stopping it smelling.....thanks for the reply.

Apparently the smell is only noticable when the leaves are crushed. I have never noticed any odour from my stinking irises and think the name is somewhat misleading.

Ceres, thanks for the info. I'll try that later.
