Can anyone id this plant - Think plant id app is wrong

TerrysWorldTerrysWorld Posts: 174
Can anyone id this plant, my plant id app says its a 'Magnoliopsida' family.

This plant can grow to about 3ft tall and self seeds, some say its a weed.
But then all plants are weeds as a friend once told me.

Hello @TerrysWorld. It looks to me like Jasminum beesianum.

    Thanks,
But it does not grow as a climber, but as a bushy type plant of approx 3ft high.

Do you keep it in that pot all the time @TerrysWorld? If you do, it could be that its growth and therefore twining habit is restricted. It would also need some support where the stems would need to be tied in.

I agree with@Ladybird4 as it grows without support it will simply wrap it's self round and round. It is a Jasmine.

No, its a cutting taken 12mths ago from my Daughters garden and she dont know its species either.
Apparently she says it needs to be controlled with it seeds blown as it can be vigorous spreading wildly.

    Thanks,
agree the flower is very similar.
I’ll label it as a Jasmine and see how it performs in the garden.

    thank you again

That fits in with Jasminum beesianum. Not so much seeds but the lax stems arch over and put out new roots where they touch the ground. I spent a day digging loads of it out earlier this year.

It's a menace. Keep it in the pot.
