turf

Hi all hopefully you can advise me. I have newly laid turf. about 5 weeks now. Even from the beginning I notice brown. Some from the roots and some from the tips. I laid pre turf fertiliser. I have pop up sprinklers. My drainage  is not great. I have now reduced  my watering to every 3 days as the turf is still moist. I was watering twice a day for 20 minutes a time. Have I over watered it?

Thanks
steve

You can’t overwater it,  supposing it rained for a week as sometimes it does.
    Your photos haven’t appeared yet.

If the drainage is poor, that's not going to be great for grass.
Was there no prep done to help with that?
Are you in the  UK? I wouldn't have thought many people here had pop up sprinklers.  :)

If your photos don’t upload reducing their size usually works.

I think underwatering is more likely than overwatering, given that the last few weeks have been very dry (for example we've had no rain at all here since 10th May). You say the turf is still moist, but how moist is the soil underneath? You need to water for long enough each time to get through to the soil, not just to wet the foliage. My feeling is a deep watering every few days is better than a light daily sprinkle.
