Is this plant a goodie or a baddie?

A plant is growing in my garden where I put poppy seeds (I think!). Is it the poppies or is it a weed? Worried I should be removing it before it takes over!

Look like poppies to me … the sort often known as opium poppies.

There’s a sort of resemblance to milk thistle leaves, but if  you sowed poppy seeds I’d go with that.   Of course, if they begin to produce yellow thistle type flowers you can yank them out before they set seed.

Poppies, well done, they’ll put on a lovely show later.  Can’t wait for mine to come out,  I had some black ones,  I’m hoping the seeds will follow.

They are the poppies you sowed .
