Pelargoniums

Hello again.
I have another issue with some of my plants 😟  I purchased these Pelargoniums and they were coming along well ( in a greenhouse) then I noticed the dying leaves. Its been fiercely hot in Scotland and I wondered if the change in the leaves was due to the heat?
I'd be very grateful for any advice.
Thank you

You can have them outside during the day, because yes - it's been hideous here. Make sure they have enough water. Just because they're pelargoniums, it doesn't mean they can manage without any, especially in little clay pots where they dry out very quickly.  :)

They should have masses of ventilation when inside though, as the temps can be horrifically high in a greenhouse when outside temps are high teens into the 20s,  so they'll just have been getting fried.

  • Thank you. I'll put them out in the morning. Should they he in dappled shade outside or is full sun alright?
    Thank you.

They're full sun plants, but just keep an eye on them when they're still so small  :)

They always lose some bottom leaves anyway,  just snip those of close to the plant,  then as @Fairygirl says,  try to keep them outside,  sun through glass is a killer for most most plants.

  • Or of course you can add a shade cloth to the greenhouse to stop it from getting too hot. Keeps my little lean-to at a nice 20-24C and my pelargoniums are loving it.
