Tomato pots - size - and do I need saucers?

    Another alternative is Potato Sacks which I use to grow toms in.  They can be folded down to reduce the height of the sack if need be.  Drainage holes in them so you can either use them on a soil base or by putting them on a saucer/gravel tray/
    Size is 35 cm diameter x 45 cm deep ( 14" x 18" ) .  Price 3 sacks for £16.  They last for years and incorporate flexible handles - handy if you need to move them once filled  ;)
  • I've found quite a number of pots and saucers for tomatoes this year from reclaim centres (the tip) for next to nothing...
