Help please, should I get rid of my birch tree?

My birch tree is full of these, which are causing a sticky mess on the gravel below and on my patio furniture. The whole tree is affected. Feel it may be beyond help? Any advice is much appreciated.

    My sycamore trees are the same. Nothing to worry about, it's just aphids, perfectly normal, they are enjoying the sunny weather. The stickiness is the 'honeydew' they excrete. A good shower of rain will freshen things up, if we ever get one :)
