Call Lillies from seed

Looking for some advice on growing Calla Liilies from seed. Do you cover the seed, soak prior to sowing. Do you exclude light? I'm probably a bit late for this year but thought I'd give them a bash as I've nothing to lose after having many seeds not germinating in the poor peat free compost this year. Thanks in advance
