I can see a problem and I think the answer is give your rose a bucket of water. The soil is too dry at root level. I have a border in my garden in SW France which is always the driest place in my garden. This used to happen to my roses before I realised that until I gave them a good soak and mulched them. The tips of the buds go hard and dry.
Failing that, another cause of deformed rose buds is thrips.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I have significant amounts of yellow in several different rose types that aren't usually that yellowy. Must be the weather.
I wouldn't put salt on my garden as it damages plants. The best thing for greenfly seems to be encouraging birds to your garden with feeders, trees and also other supports for them to rest on while they munch e.g. obelisks, stake and peony supports.
We have 2 hanging bird feeders with 3 seed and one fat balls plus a platform swing in a holly tree that almost overhangs the rose, we put seed on this.

I remember my father spraying salt water on greenfly - is this still an accepted method or are commercial products better?

Will put some perching points beside the rose
Isn't the rose usually pale yellow?
