Rosa Little Rambler

Hi all

I was wondering if anyone has this rose? I’ve been looking online for a fragrant climber and I have seen this rose described as both ‘very fragrant’ on Peter Beales and as ‘very light’ on David Austin. Can anyone tell me from experience what the fragrance is like from this rose and how strong it is?

Thanks!

I had this on an east facing fence about twenty years ago - it didn't have any discernible scent.  It may have not had enough sun on it to release the scent though.
  • @adamadamant ah ok that’s disappointing! Thanks for your help. Did you like the rose in any case?

It wasn’t a stunner for me - the flower heads are abundant but very small indeed. which I wasn’t expecting, probably my fault for not doing my research properly. No scent and short flowering period. Pretty enough when it was out though.
  • @adamadamant ok, I’ll keep it on the list of maybes then!
  • I grow two either side of my main bed with a Ballerina and directly in front a Desdemona, hopefully the photos will give an impression of the bloom size differences. The smallest of the three but I'm quite fond of it and indeed has a light scent. 'surely it can be a useful filler in lots of places @omghiomg_123 my way maybe not everyone's taste...but really couldn't care less.

  • @amancalledgeorge they all look lovely! I had been quite keen on it because I only have a small arch to grow it over and I’ve read it’s suitable for pots (I’ve built a very larger planter), I just wanted to have one with a good fragrance. This may seem a strange question, but how light is a light fragrance in the case? Is it but barely noticeable?

    thanks!
