Roses on arch question

I pruned this iceberg like in previous years, no special care. Why do you think it has shot up like this? It's about 6 years' old. What happens if I prune it now? Thank you.

    If you prune it now won't you lose all those flower buds? I'd wait until it has finished flowering. Has it been very wet this spring where you are?

    Thanks @Busy-Lizzie. It was very rainy in April, so that's it, I'll leave it be then.
