Fungus growing on damp wool and Hessian sack

Does anyone know what this could be? I discovered it growing in a permanently damp area were water leaks from my hosepipe. I thought it was a decaying flower at first.

There are many types of ‘Cup Fungus’ … that looks like one of them

Thank you @dovefromabove:) Very interesting - I will try not to agitate the spores into exploding as I go near it!

It's what fungi do.  Feed on animals and plants.  Especially when damp.

Different fungi have very specific food likes.  This one is unlikely to attack anything else.
