What kind of lavender is this please?

I need to buy a lavender to match this one and have no idea what type this one is?

Neighbour killed the other matching plant that is nearest her front door and I want to replace it with same type as this one (we all love symmetry right..)

This is a salvia nemerosa (possibly caradonna), rather than a lavender.  :)

It’s a Salvia actually 😀. I’m sure someone will come along and identify the variety soon.

I agree, Salvia Nemorosa Caradonna, has those characteristic dark stems.

Not lavender sorry it’s a type of salvia . Garden centres are full of them at the moment .

If you’re disappointed that it’s not lavender, it does have some similar qualities - it’s also popular with bees and can cope well with heat and drought conditions, once well established. Nice flowers too!
    Wirral. Sandy, free draining soil.

Do you know how the neighbour managed to kill one? They are pretty tough so it might be worth working out what went wrong before you fork out for another one to go in the same place.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
