White thingy

Dear Gardeners World folk.

Here are a few photos of a friends mystery large flower taken in her garden yesterday.

Flower looks like a Campion, body looks like a cornflower!

All tips gratefully appreciated.

    Corncockle, I think. I have pink ones in the paddock.

    They're lovely. I sowed some a few years ago, and have both colours popping up here and there. I just noticed the white ones yesterday when hedge cutting. 
    You can collect the seed and sow them if you like them, so your friend may want to do that too  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Wow! Didn't know that corncockles are also white. Beautiful flower.
